Multi-Utility Inspector
Are you an experienced utilities (Gas, Electric & Water) professional with a strong background in network construction, inspection and compliance? We’re looking for a confident and detail-focused Field Asset Officer to help ensure our gas, electric and water networks are constructed, maintained and managed safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory and company standards.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Network Operations Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking audit and inspection duties including managing the raising and closure of NCRs to ensure technical compliance with relevant Regulations and industry standards of newly constructed gas, Water and electric networks including electric sub-stations to be adopted by Indigo Pipelines. As a multi-utility Field Asset Officer you are also responsible for the maintenance of existing Indigo assets dealing with customer queries, minor maintenance of Multi Occupancy Building Networks (gas in flats), pressure management systems (PRI’s), special crossing’s, diversion works, re-enforcement work including gas safety enquiries and auditing of construction work undertaken by sub-contractors.

You’ll work closely with internal teams, adoption partners, subcontractors and building managers to resolve defects, oversee planned works, support incident investigations and drive continuous improvement. Clear reporting, accurate records and a collaborative, customer-focused approach will be key to success in the role.
What you will need…
- At least five years’ experience in utility network operations and construction, ideally across gas, electricity and water. Experience of the independent connections market and working with third parties to resolve defects would be a strong advantage.
- Strong gas distribution knowledge up to 7 bar, including SCO, IGEM/G/5, IGE/UP/7, TD/3 and TD/4, plus Water Regulations and experience preparing RAMS, COSHH assessments and permits to work, you will also have knowledge of electric distribution networks.
- Confidence managing subcontractors, making decisions under pressure and prioritising effectively. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and, ideally, digital safety inspection tools such as SafetyCulture (Mitti).
- Proactive, collaborative and detail-focused, someone who takes ownership, solves problems and helps deliver a great service.
