Multi-Skilled Engineer
๐ Location: Spalding
๐ Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6-6
Join Our Engineering Team
We are looking for a talented and driven Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and making a real impact on production performance.
Working within a high-performing engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and food safety.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across the site
- Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and fault-finding issues
- Supporting production teams to maximise efficiency and performance
- Completing maintenance work orders and updating maintenance systems accurately
- Ensuring all factory areas are ready for production start-up
- Driving continuous improvement, reliability, and root cause analysis activities
- Supporting food safety, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
- Maintaining high housekeeping and 5S standards throughout engineering areas
- Working collaboratively with operational teams to achieve site targets
- Contributing to cost reduction initiatives while minimizing production downtime

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in an engineering maintenance and fault-finding role within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance skills
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Good Knowledge Of
- HACCP principles
- Food manufacturing environments
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Health & Safety best practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Computer literate with experience of CMMS systems such as Holistech or SAP being advantageous

Qualifications
Applicants should hold one of the following:
- HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 Engineering
- BTEC ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- BTEC Level 3 Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- BTEC Level 3 Mechatronics
- City & Guilds Level 3 Engineering
Additional qualifications such as IOSH, ROSPA, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Food Safety certifications would be advantageous.
