Description
Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical background? Do you enjoy fault finding, preventative maintenance, and keeping production machinery running efficiently? If so, we want to hear from you.
Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is a hands-on maintenance role where you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery.
Location: Wellingborough
Shift: Monday - Friday rotating shifts: 06:00 - 14:00 / 08:00 - 16:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 (no nights)
Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Duties
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
- Respond to breakdowns and minimize production downtime
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
- Work across production machinery including mills, bailers, mixers, hoppers, and robots
- Carry out root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability improvements
- Use workshop equipment including drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
The Ideal Candidate Must
- Be apprentice trained with an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification
- Hold a current 18th Edition qualification
- Have proven multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Have an electrical bias, although the role is approximately 50/50 electrical and mechanical
- Be confident using hand tools and workshop equipment
- Have a good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment
- Be comfortable working directly on production machinery and responding to breakdowns

Desirable
- Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or process manufacturing
- PLC fault-finding experience (programming is not required)
- Experience with motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors, and pneumatics
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
