Maintenance Engineer

Bridgwater

£40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

Monday to Friday - Double Days

No Nights + Early Finish Every Friday

Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to move away from nights and 12-hour continental shifts?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing manufacturing business near Bridgwater, offering a Monday-to-Friday double-day shift, no nights and an early finish every Friday.

The business is continuing to invest across its manufacturing operation, with a strong programme of equipment upgrades and engineering projects planned over the next couple of years. You'll join an experienced engineering team in a varied role covering electrical and mechanical maintenance, automation, installations, improvements and project work.

The Role

  • Reactive and planned maintenance across a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding across production and automated equipment.
  • Fault finding within electrical control panels across single and three-phase systems.
  • Working with motors, drives, servos, contactors, relays, sensors and machine safety systems.
  • Basic PLC fault finding and diagnostics, including I/O checks and identifying machine faults.
  • Mechanical maintenance including bearings, gearboxes, shafts, drive systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Supporting electrical installations, facilities maintenance and equipment modifications.
  • Involvement with new equipment installations and upcoming engineering projects.
  • Working as part of an experienced on-site engineering team while being confident managing breakdowns independently when required.

The Person

  • Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias and good mechanical capability.
  • Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing, production or a similar industrial environment.
  • Confident electrical fault finding within control panels.
  • Comfortable independently fault finding across both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Good practical understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Basic PLC diagnostic experience would be beneficial, but programming experience is not required.
  • 18th Edition would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Experience with installations, automation or engineering projects would be beneficial.

Shift

Weekly rotating Monday-to-Friday double days with no nights:

Earlies: 6:00am-2:00pm Monday to Thursday / 6:00am-1:00pm Friday.

Lates: 2:00pm-10:00pm Monday to Thursday / 1:00pm-8:00pm Friday.

  • £40,000 - £45,000 salary.
