Location: Based in Stepney Green, travelling daily to HMO properties across London

Salary: A GBP 33,000 - A GBP 38,000, depending on skills, trade knowledge, and experience

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00)

We're looking for an experienced, multi-skilled maintenance operative to join our in-house team, looking after a portfolio of HMO properties across London. You'll handle day-to-day reactive maintenance alongside small projects: partitions, refurbishments, garden work: keeping our properties safe and well-maintained for tenants.

  • Company van and tools provided.

What you'll be doing

  • Reactive repairs across London HMOs: basic carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrics, painting, decorating, and cosmetic refurbishment
  • Small projects such as stud partitions and general refurbishment works
  • Quick fixes across multiple properties per day within your patch: tiling, flooring repairs, cosmetic updates, garden and grounds maintenance
  • Diagnosing issues on-site and fixing them right first time, to a high standard
  • Working from job tickets, planning your day and materials in advance
  • Logging job status with photos via Fixflo and other systems
  • Sourcing and purchasing materials within company procedures, keeping cost and waste down
  • Working to H and S standards, PPE included
  • Leaving tenants homes clean, tidy, and respected
  • Occasionally pairing with a colleague on larger projects, sharing a company vehicle

What you'll need

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled tradesperson/maintenance operative in residential property: HMO, social housing, or private rented sector experience is a strong plus
  • Strong hands-on ability in at least two core trades: carpentry/partitions, painting/decorating, basic plumbing/electrics
  • Comfortable working solo or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and confidence with basic apps/IT for job reporting
  • Full UK manual driving licence (Category B or above), no more than 3 points: essential. This role involves driving company vehicles, and applicants must meet the eligibility criteria of our commercial fleet insurance policy; full details confirmed at offer stage
