Job Title: Maintenance Technician (multiskilled)
Salary: £44,567 (Salary Includes shift allowance) (Additional paid overtime available)
Contract: Permanent - rotating 3 shifts
Shift Pattern: 4 Crew, 3 Shifts per week (days/nights rotation, Mon - Sat)
Rest Days: 16 Rest Days during 4-week shift cycle (57%)
Location: Peterlee, County Durham
Hours: Full Time - 36.50
Travel: Up to 5% for training and development

Job Purpose:
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure a high level of uptime is achieved on a wide range of equipment throughout the facility.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Completing planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance.
- Completing Dynamic Risk Assessments along with adhering to the company’s Health and Safety policy.
- Utilising the Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP PM, Agility etc) to review previous breakdown data and record actions taken on breakdown recoveries.
- Diagnosing PLC concerns and implementing program changes.
- Complete training and further learning as required.
- Breakdown root cause identification and countermeasure implementation.
- Responsible for maintenance on the following equipment:
- Automated Metal Cutting Equipment including Laser and Plasma
- Automated Paint Plant
- Robotic Welding Systems
- Welding equipment
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
- Electronic Torque equipment
- Automated Moving Lines/AGVs
- Hydraulic Presses
- Overhead and Semi Goliath Cranes
Skills/Experience Required:
- Safety Focus – Demonstrates a commitment to working safely, following procedures, identifying potential hazards, and contributing to a safe work environment.
- Teamwork & Collaboration – Works effectively with others, communicates respectfully, supports team goals, and contributes to a positive and productive work environment.
- Functional Expertise & Continuous Learning – Learns and applies job-related knowledge, follows established processes, solves routine work challenges, and adapts to new tools, equipment, and procedures.
- Mechanical Aptitude & Problem Solving – Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment, troubleshoot issues, interpret technical information, and apply mechanical reasoning to complete work safely and effectively.
- A recognised apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, an ONC, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering equivalent qualification.
- Experience with PLCs.
- Maintenance and fault-finding experience (Mechanical and Electrical) in a manufacturing environment.
- An interest in problem solving and passion to learn.
- Highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and be comfortable to work independently.

- NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification or experience and evidence of safety improvement activities.
