BMA CONTRACTORS LIMITED, headquartered in Hoddesdon, is a construction firm specializing in comprehensive refurbishments and construction projects across Greater London and surrounding areas. The company transforms a wide range of spaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, and voids, and manages both minor and large-scale works. Its services cover loft insulation, external works, groundworks, key clamps and ramps, aluminium decking, fire door and fire stopping installations, student accommodation refurbishments, suspended ceilings, internal fit-outs, and new builds. BMA CONTRACTORS LIMITED is committed to delivering high-quality results and reliable workmanship across diverse residential and commercial construction needs. Role Description

The Multitrader role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greater London, working across various residential and commercial refurbishment and construction projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out multi-skilled trades work such as carpentry, basic plumbing, plastering, decorating, and general repairs to a high standard.
  • Interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Measuring and cutting materials.
  • Installing fixtures and fittings.
  • Assisting with external works, groundworks, and internal fit-outs as needed.

The Multitrader will:

  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Coordinate with site managers, other trades, and clients to complete tasks on time.

The position may also require:

  • Travel between sites.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Accurate completion of job documentation.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated multi-trade skills in areas such as carpentry, basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, and painting/decorating.
  • Experience working on refurbishments, fit-outs, and general construction projects, ideally including kitchens, bathrooms, and voids.
  • Knowledge of safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and construction materials.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites and ability to follow company procedures and risk assessments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Good time management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage workloads across multiple tasks or sites.
  • Relevant trade qualifications, apprenticeships, or equivalent on-the-job experience in construction or maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
