Murex Business Analyst – London

Location: London

Work Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

Experience: 6–10+ years

Employment Type: Contract / Permanent

Domain: Investment Banking / Capital Markets / Financial Markets

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Murex Business Analyst to support Murex MX.3 implementation, enhancement, migration and production support initiatives within a leading financial services environment.

The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance and Technology, translating business requirements into functional solutions across the Murex platform. Strong knowledge of financial markets products and the end-to-end trade lifecycle is essential. Current London Murex roles commonly emphasise MX.3, Front Office workflows, FX/interest-rate products, pricing, valuation, market data and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements from Front Office, Risk, Operations and Finance stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed Murex functional specifications and solution designs.
  • Work across the Murex MX.3 platform, supporting implementation, enhancements, upgrades and migration programmes.
  • Analyse current AS-IS processes and define TO-BE processes within Murex.
  • Perform gap analysis between existing functionality, business requirements and Murex capabilities.
  • Support Murex configuration, testing, validation and deployment activities.
  • Work closely with developers, Murex technical teams and external vendors.
  • Support the full trade lifecycle including trade capture, booking, pricing, valuation, lifecycle events, P&L, settlements and reporting.
  • Support UAT, integration testing, regression testing and end-to-end testing.
  • Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis and coordinate resolution.
  • Support data migration, reconciliation and validation where required.
  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, process flows, test scenarios and other BA documentation.
  • Work closely with traders and business users to understand issues and translate them into actionable technology requirements.
  • Manage stakeholders across geographically distributed teams and communicate progress, risks and dependencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
