Murex Technical Consultant – Risk / Murex Upgrade
London | Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite
£700 per day | Inside IR35
12-Month Contract
We are looking for an experienced Murex Technical Consultant to join a major financial services organisation for a long-term Murex transformation programme. This is a hands-on technical role focused primarily on a Murex upgrade, alongside enhancements to an established Murex Enterprise Risk Management environment. You’ll work closely with traders, Credit Risk and Market Risk teams, business analysts, technical SMEs and development teams, making this an excellent opportunity for a Murex specialist with strong risk-platform experience.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering the Murex upgrade from analysis and implementation through to regression testing, defect resolution and production enhancement.
Responsibilities
- Conducting gap analysis between current and target Murex versions
- Contributing to the overall Murex upgrade and implementation strategy
- Defining the regression testing approach and supporting defect triage
- Leading and supporting junior team members through testing activities
- Designing and delivering new Market Risk and Credit Risk solutions
- Enhancing existing MLC, Market Risk and Trade Pricing capabilities
- Developing and configuring Murex workflows, interfaces and Datamart reporting
- Working with vendors and technology teams on data migration to cloud
- Providing project progress, risk and impediment reporting to stakeholders
- Performing root-cause analysis on production issues
- Maintaining runbooks and identifying opportunities for automation

What We're Looking For
You will need a strong technical Murex background, ideally with 5+ years' experience delivering Murex solutions across the full software development lifecycle. Crucially, you should have previous experience delivering a Murex upgrade within a risk environment, including exposure to MLC and Market Risk modules.

Experience working directly with traders, Market Risk and Credit Risk stakeholders will be particularly valuable. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline is also sought.
This role would suit an experienced Murex specialist who can combine strong technical configuration and development skills with a detailed understanding of Market and Credit Risk.
