Strategic Marketing and Influence

  • Develop and deliver the marketing strategy for Maidstone Museums and contribute to the Arts Hub strategy, aligning activity to Council and commercial priorities.
  • Provide specialist marketing advice to museum officers and MBC colleagues, influencing service planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and use insight to inform continuous improvement.

Commercial and Income Generation

  • Lead promotion of venue hire, events, exhibitions, touring exhibitions, and retail
  • Meet income generation and footfall targets
  • Provide B2B and commercial marketing advice to the Arts Hub and partners.
  • Support teams to maximise marketing budgets and deliver value for money while meeting strategic budgets

Digital, Content and Campaign Delivery

  • Manage website content, ticketing promotion, CRM, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Provide strategic direction for content creation, ensuring brand, accessibility, and quality standards.
  • Liaise with the in-house graphic designer, providing clear and cohesive briefs.

Audience Development and Engagement

  • Work with Museum Events and Community Manager to support audience development activity, including engagement with underrepresented audiences.
  • Represent the Council confidently at public events, exhibitions, and professional forums.
  • Work with influencers, artists, and sector partners where appropriate.

Partnerships, Projects and Resources

  • Manage freelancers and external suppliers.
  • Develop cross-council and external partnerships to amplify impact.
  • Support funding applications and award submissions.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and stakeholders at an appropriate level.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Council’s Strategic Plan and corporate values.
  • Comply with all Council policies including equality, health and safety, IT security, and emergency planning.
