Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Working on a the iconic Postal Museum near Farringdon, London, this role requires high levels of professionalism and an enthusiasm for public engagement as well as a desire to deliver a flawless and diligent service. The duty security officer is expected to display excellent customer service at all times as well as patrol and respond to issues and incidents and escalate appropriately at all times.

The role will also involve Patrols and Building integrity checks to ensure that the Museum is secure with the appropriate protection and security measures are in place and functioning effectively.

Strong communication skills are required, both verbally and via email and the ability to use the Company's PDA and online reporting platforms is required.

The role is day time only on a 4 Day Shift On, 4 Day Shift Off rotation. The hours are 07:30-18:00hrs each day however overtime will occasionally be required in the evenings to cover small onsite events.

The Pay Rate is £14.80 per hour.

Key duties and focus areas:

  • Provide a prompt, polite and warm welcome to all visitors.
  • Anticipate 'clients' needs/problems before they arise and that their expectations are met and exceeded each day.
  • Be seen as a visible customer focused professional greeting and engaging with visitors.
  • Provide a consistent professional service at all times.
  • Communicate visitor/client arrivals to the relevant person promptly.
  • Maintain a high security awareness at all times.
  • Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with management instructions.
  • Proficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skills.
  • Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to.
  • Ensuring that no un-authorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
  • Issue visitor passes using agreed processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Professional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated team player.
  • Smart and confident with a physical presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with young/adults people at all levels.
  • Immaculate presentation - due to the environment in which you will be working.
  • Clear, concise and confident communication skills which are customer service orientated with a very keen eye for detail.
  • Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory education.
  • Provide support to the wider when required.
  • Current SIA license - Door Supervisory Minimum.
