Salary: £43,860 - £47,829 per annum (Pro rata for part time) (Pay Award Pending)
Working Hours: 910.2 annualised hours
Contract Type: Fixed term for (12 Months) or Secondment for (12 Months) with Line managers approval

Working with thousands of children and young people across the county each year, we provide instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles, events and performance opportunities that inspire creativity, confidence and achievement.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and entrepreneurial music education leader to shape and launch a new rock, pop and contemporary music programme for young people across Leicester and Leicestershire.
- You'll lead the development of a fresh, inclusive and sustainable music offer, building engaging pathways for young people both in and out of school.
- From growing a thriving traded school programme and developing innovative music provision for SEMH and Alternative Provision settings, to creating bands, supporting producers, and curating performance opportunities, you'll play a key role in expanding access to high-quality music-making.
- Working closely with schools, young people, partners and stakeholders, you'll drive participation, develop strong relationships, and identify new opportunities for growth.
- You'll also recruit and support a team of talented music leaders and tutors, ensuring excellent delivery and a consistently high-quality experience for participants.
We're looking for someone with a passion and respect for contemporary music education, strong business development skills, and the ability to combine creativity with commercial awareness at a strategic level. Please note, this role is offered initially as a one-year pilot programme. However, we are ambitious about its future and see significant potential for growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and developing a sustainable, scalable offer. Subject to the success of the programme and achievement of agreed outcomes, we would expect there may be further opportunities.

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Relevant degree or professional qualification, Significant experience of designing, developing and delivering music education, youth arts or creative learning programmes.
- Experience of working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds, including those with SEMH needs and/or in Alternative Provision settings.
- Strong understanding of contemporary, rock and pop music education and progression pathways. Knowledge of education landscapes and national government initiatives in relation to music education.
- Strong strategic planning and programme development skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop sustainable growth opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to improving outcomes, participation and opportunities for children and young people through music.
Must possess a valid driving licence and have use of own vehicle, be able to travel and work from various locations throughout the county and city and travel between sites as required in a cost- efficient way.
