Job Description
We are Global
At Global, we think big, work hard, and never stand still. We’re the proud home of the best media and entertainment brands on the planet, driven by our talented and passionate people. Our mission? To make everyone’s day brighter - our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record Outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.
Your Role: Music Programming Assistant
As a Music Programming Assistant at Global, you’ll help make sure our music-led radio brands sound their best every day. You’ll support the Group Music Team to schedule, prepare and deliver accurate, consistent and compliant music output that reflects each brand’s strategy and audience.
As a Music Programming Assistant at Global, you will:
Key Responsibilities
- Music scheduling & playout accuracy (40%): Support the creation, preparation and delivery of accurate music schedules across Global’s music-led radio services, ensuring high standards of accuracy, consistency and compliance.
- GSelector & playlist management (35%): Use GSelector to manage music categories, clocks, rotations and playlists in line with agreed programming strategy, helping to optimise flow, variety and audience appeal.
- Cross-team coordination (15%): Work closely with music schedulers, programming and production teams to ensure music logs are delivered on time and any issues are identified and resolved quickly.
- Service development & improvement (10%): Help maintain database accuracy (metadata, coding, categories and rules) and contribute ideas to improve scheduling workflows, playlist flow and overall listener experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
