Rich Roe Records is Hiring: Studio Engineer / Audio Engineer & Music Producer
Rich Roe Records is looking to recruit 1–2 skilled Studio Engineers / Audio Engineers & Music Producers to join the team at Rich Roe Studio in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
We are an independent record label and recording studio working with emerging artists across recording, music production, mixing, mastering, artist development, releases and direct-to-consumer music.
We are looking for engineers who are technically capable, reliable, professional, creative and confident working directly with artists.
This is more than simply an opportunity to work studio sessions. We want to build a long-term relationship with engineers who can grow their experience, develop their client base, build professional credits and contribute to the continued growth of Rich Roe Studio.
Responsibilities
- Recording and engineering vocal sessions
- Setting up and managing recording sessions
- Mixing and mastering music to a professional standard
- Exporting, organising and managing session files and stems
- Supporting artists with vocal recording, arrangements and creative decisions
- Producing music where appropriate
- Maintaining a professional and productive studio environment
- Communicating effectively with artists and the Rich Roe Records team

Pay and working arrangement
Location: Rich Roe Studio, Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Pay: £12.80–£25 per hour depending on audio engineering experience, technical ability and overall skill level.
Payment schedule: Paid bi-weekly.
Working arrangement: Flexible, with freelance and session-based opportunities available.
We are open to applications from self-taught engineers, music production or audio engineering graduates, and experienced professionals.

Qualifications are welcomed, but they are not the deciding factor. We will place significant importance on your portfolio, technical ability, reliability, communication, professionalism and ability to work effectively with artists.
Candidates should ideally be based in Southend, wider Essex, East London or London and must be able to travel reliably to the studio when booked for sessions.
Our recruitment process will include an application and portfolio review, followed by an interview and practical studio trial for shortlisted candidates.
