Role Description
The Musical Theatre Tutor will deliver engaging, age-appropriate musical theatre lessons to young learners on-site at the Mossley centre. This part-time role involves planning and leading sessions that integrate singing, acting, and movement, while nurturing confidence, creativity, and performance skills. The tutor will prepare lesson materials, rehearse pieces for showcases or performances, and provide constructive feedback to support each learner’s growth.

- Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Communicating with parents and guardians as needed
- Collaborating with the local centre team to align with Little Voices® teaching standards
- Participating in occasional events, workshops, or performances hosted by the centre
Qualifications
- Musical Theatre Skills: Candidates should possess strong musical theatre skills, including singing, acting, and basic movement or dance suitable for children and young people.
- Teaching or Tutoring Skills: Candidates should possess teaching or tutoring skills, such as lesson planning, classroom or group management, and the ability to adapt activities for different ages and abilities.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and a supportive, encouraging manner with learners and families.
- Organisational Skills: Candidates should possess organisational skills, including time management, reliability in attending scheduled classes, and accurate record-keeping for attendance and progress.
- Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as training in performing arts, drama, music, musical theatre, or education are beneficial.
- Experience: Experience working with children or young people in an educational or extracurricular setting is highly desirable.
- Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding practices and willingness to complete necessary background checks are required.
- Attitude and Commitment: A positive attitude, commitment to inclusive teaching, and enthusiasm for Little Voices®’ mission to build confidence and nurture talent are essential.
