We’re a well-established and ambitious stationery company based in the beautiful city of Bath, supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK and international markets. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dynamic and commercially minded National Account Manager to become the face of our business and play a key role in shaping our future success.
This is far more than a traditional account management role. You’ll be the primary point of contact for our valued customers, representing our brand with confidence and credibility. You’ll have the autonomy to develop relationships, identify new opportunities, influence business growth, and make a genuine impact on the direction of the company. Key Responsibilities
- Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales and profit targets within assigned territories and accounts.
- Identify, develop and execute a strategic plan to grow sales and expand our customer base.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the agreed portfolio of national accounts and key export accounts, addressing any issues promptly and effectively and ensuring strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Effectively communicate the company’s sales proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to track performance, stock requirements and develop actionable insights that will increase sales and margin. Ensure overstocks are minimised and help facilitate exits at best result if required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of account plans, on time product launches and NPD.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders and ensure account plans are maintained and sales forecasts are hit.
- Manage and deliver margin and contribution targets for accounts that may require additional support with terms, value added services and merchandising solutions.
- Develop and manage bespoke programmes where required or key customers in line with company product portfolio and commercial requirements whether that be for NPD or, for instance, a packaging change to an existing product. Manage the critical path and ensure best practise is applied at all times through strong product skills and working collaboratively to ensure reduction of cost to serve.
- Be an industry expert in the company’s portfolio working with the other stakeholders to ensure the company’s products are both industry leading and compelling and all sales are maximised. Support regional sales teams and customers where required in the delivery of this.
- Attend and successfully represent the company at Trade Shows driving new business opportunities alongside excellent support for existing accounts.

About You
- Proven experience in account management within a consumer products business sourcing and supplying products manufactured in the far east.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyse data and develop strategic insights that support forecasting and business growth.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Working with large retailers to develop bespoke seasonal and in-line programmes.
- Commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to position products against competitors.
- Proven track record of assessing commercial opportunities through gross margin and contribution analysis.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to managing multiple accounts.
- Relevant experience representing a company/brand at Trade Shows.
- Relevant Industry experience in a seasonal stationery and gift business is a significant advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally to support key accounts.
