🚨 National Account Controller – Grocery | Premium Branded FMCG
We’re partnering with a major premium branded FMCG manufacturer to recruit one of the most important commercial roles within their business.

As National Account Controller you will have responsibility for some of the business's most strategically important Grocery customers, with significant commercial ownership and line management responsibility.
This is a highly visible and influential position. You’ll need to be commercially sharp, decisive and agile, with the confidence to lead your team, challenge where appropriate and manage upwards within the wider business.
The Role:
- Ownership and management of a significant multi-million-pound P&L
- Lead the commercial strategy across key strategic UK Grocery accounts
- Full customer-facing responsibility, building strong relationships with senior retail stakeholders
- Deliver against revenue, profit, margin and wider commercial targets
- Lead annual negotiations, JBPs, pricing and commercial agreements
- Line manage, coach and develop members of the Grocery commercial team
- Use data, insight and category performance to identify opportunities and drive profitable growth
- Develop robust forecasts, commercial plans and account strategies
- Work cross-functionally with Category, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations
- Maintain strong commercial processes, reporting and performance management
- Support the wider commercial team when required, operating beyond your immediate account responsibilities
- Manage upwards effectively and work closely with senior leadership
- Make clear, commercially sound decisions in a fast-moving environment

Experience Required:
- Existing National Account Controller OR an experienced Senior National Account Manager ready for the next step
- Strong experience managing major UK Grocery retailers
- Proven branded FMCG experience
- Ownership of significant P&L and commercial targets
- Customer-facing experience with the ability to build credible senior-level relationships
- Previous line management experience or clear evidence of leadership capability
- Commercially strong, process-led and data-driven
- Strong understanding of forecasting, margin, pricing, promotional strategy and commercial negotiations
- Agile, decisive and comfortable operating with autonomy
- Confident managing multiple priorities and working with senior internal stakeholders
