National Account Executive

Greater Manchester | £35,000–£40,000 + £3,000 car allowance + bonus up to 50%

A branded consumer goods business is recruiting a National Account Executive to own a portfolio of national retail customers, responsible for £2m to £5m in annual sales.

The brands are household names with genuine consumer recognition, and the retail relationships are well established. The business is changing how it grows those accounts, moving away from promotionally led trading towards strategic account management, with stronger customer planning, data-led propositions and a greater focus on sustainable growth.

The business has introduced a new sales process, alongside investment in training and commercial tools. This is an opportunity to develop within a business that is raising the standard of its commercial function, combining direct account responsibility with exposure to some of the UK's largest retailers.

The role

  • Own and grow a portfolio of national retail accounts carrying a £2m to £5m annual sales target
  • Develop customer-specific plans to increase distribution, brand presence and market share
  • Build relationships with retail buyers, identifying opportunities for new listings, range extensions and repeat business
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, commercial proposals and negotiations
  • Identify new opportunities through market, customer and competitor analysis
  • Support Senior National Account Managers and Sales Directors on major retail customers, including meeting preparation, customer presentations and follow-up
  • Work closely with Buying, Merchandising and Supply Chain to develop propositions, pricing and customer solutions
  • Use sales data and market intelligence to identify opportunities and improve account performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
