NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER (12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover)
LOCATION: REMOTE, WITH OFFICE DAYS AT TYNE DOCK, SOUTH SHIELDS, TYNE & WEAR (REQUIRED EVERY OTHER WEEK)
SALARY: £Competitive + bonus + car allowance

Role Overview
Reporting to the Sales Director, this is a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. You will have real ownership of some of JML's biggest UK retail accounts, working at both a strategic and day-to-day level. You will have full profit and loss responsibility for your account portfolio, setting and delivering the strategic plan within the UK retail sector, while also taking ownership of how our products are promoted and presented in store, working with internal teams to design and implement displays that maximise impact for both the JML brand and the retailer. As this role covers maternity leave, you will need to get up to speed with the accounts and our processes quickly, so things continue to run smoothly, with scope to take on wider responsibilities as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
- Increasing sales and promotional presence of allocated accounts to exceed targets
- Creating sales forecasts and intake plans
- Maintaining accurate records: rebates, contacts, activities, forecasts, and display builds
- Designing and overseeing how displays are presented within retailer stores
- Understanding individual customer requirements and maintaining key relationships
- Analysing sales data and identifying areas for growth
- Holding regular meetings with existing and new customers
- Negotiating pricing, contracts, and packages
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to keep information and decisions moving quickly
Experience
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing major UK retail accounts within an FMCG environment, with the confidence to take ownership of the portfolio quickly.
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Essential experience includes having managed at least two of the following three major UK retail accounts: Boots, Argos, and Tesco.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a National Account Manager
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly
- A thorough understanding of the FMCG business and category dynamics
- Confident negotiating with, and influencing, senior retail decision-makers
- Curious about AI and other tools that can help you work smarter, with the confidence to pick them up quickly
- Able to adapt quickly and get up to speed with new accounts and processes within a short timeframe
- Driven and ambitious, with the confidence to make an impact quickly and take on greater responsibility
- Full, clean UK driving licence
