National Account Manager – Grocery

Bedfordshire
3 days onsite Monday-Friday
£50,000-£60,000 + £5,700 car allowance + 20% bonus + healthcare

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to manage and develop a significant grocery account within a growing FMCG business supplying the UK retail market.

Working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager and wider commercial teams, you will take ownership of the day-to-day customer relationship, helping to drive profitable growth, improve performance and deliver against customer objectives.

Managing a substantial and growing major retail account, you will have the opportunity to influence range development, promotional activity, forecasting, commercial plans and long-term customer strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a key grocery retail customer relationship, acting as the main day-to-day commercial contact.
  • Support account plans, customer reviews and commercial growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities across range development, promotions, pricing and sales performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams including supply chain, operations, procurement, technical and product development.
  • Monitor sales performance, forecasts and customer KPIs to drive service and commercial improvement.
  • Support new product launches and projects that improve customer and business performance.

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally have proven account management experience within FMCG, grocery retail, fresh produce or a related consumer goods environment.

The successful candidate will be commercially minded, confident working with major retail customers and comfortable influencing across multiple internal teams.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage projects and deliver results.

Experience supporting or leading others would be advantageous.
