National Account Manager – Travel Sector
Remote / Field-based – customer travel required
Up to £65,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits
I’m working with a fast-growing food-to-go manufacturer to recruit a National Account Manager to lead their growth across the Travel sector.
This is a newly created role focused on building out the channel across airlines, rail, ports, ferries and marine catering. The business already has strong foundations in place, with existing relationships across travel and transport customers, but this role is about bringing more structure, more focus, and more growth.
The business has grown significantly over the last few years, doubling since 2022. They’re employee-owned, quality-led, and not trying to win work by being the cheapest in the market. The focus is on service, innovation, and building long-term customer partnerships. With the sustained growth, the business is constantly investing into capability and technology to further grow the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow existing travel sector customers across airline, rail and marine
- Take ownership of a portfolio worth c.£15m–£20m, including major airline relationships
- Identify and win new business across airlines, ports, ferries, rail and wider travel catering
- Lead customer conversations, tenders, RFPs and commercial negotiations
- Use your network to open doors and start the right conversations quickly
- Build strong account plans that drive listings, distribution, growth and profitability
- Work closely with NPD, technical, operations and customer service to deliver the right product solutions
- Attend customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities across the sector
- Bring structure and commercial focus to a channel with a lot of untapped opportunity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
