Overview
We’re looking for an account manager to help us build Tallow + Ash into one of the most exciting modern brands in the UK and change the laundry aisle for good. You’ll work closely with the Head of Retail, the founders and wider team to help make sure we have the best retailer relationships, business plans & supply as we continue to grow. This is a fast paced, collaborative role where everyday is different, perfect for someone who loves the variety of challenger brands. You'll be the main point of contact for some of our key customers, across grocery & travel- with lots of opportunity for development. It's a hands-on customer facing role, part negotiator, part project manager, part business dev. So if you're up for doing things differently in retail- you're in the right place. As we grow, you’ll play a big role in helping transform the laundry category with our retail customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the P&L for your account(s) — sales, volume, distribution, trading terms, the lot — and own the numbers against budget.
- Lead the JBP negotiations each year (and adjust as you go), covering pricing, promo, trading terms and range reviews.
- Build real relationships with the buyer, category manager and supply chain contacts — the kind where they pick up the phone.
- Put together range, pricing and promo recommendations backed by decent data (EPOS, Nielsen/IRI, Kantar, loyalty card data).
- Keep trade spend on budget and track what's actually working, shifting money to where it's earning its keep.
- Forecast volumes accurately and work with supply chain so we're not sitting on stock or, worse, out of it.
- Pull together the wider team — marketing, category, supply chain, finance — to get the JBP and any new launches over the line.
- Keep an eye on what competitors and the retailer are up to, and tweak the plan when the market shifts.
- Keep the team in the loop on how things are tracking, including the stuff that's not going to plan.
