About Pet Brands
Pet Brands is one of the UK's leading suppliers of pet products, working with many of the country's biggest retailers. As part of Paramount Retail Group, we have a unique advantage—offering retailers far more than pet products alone.
Our group portfolio spans pet, homewares, drinks, chocolate, confectionery and wider consumer goods, supported by global sourcing, exclusive brands, private label expertise and product development capabilities. This gives our commercial team the opportunity to build strategic partnerships that few competitors can match.
The Opportunity
This is not your typical National Account Manager role.
We're looking for a commercially driven account manager who enjoys identifying opportunities others miss. Someone who can move beyond selling from a catalogue, understand what customers are trying to achieve, and develop tailored commercial solutions that create long-term growth.
You'll manage and grow key national retail, grocery and specialist accounts while actively identifying new business opportunities. Using our sourcing capabilities, exclusive brands, private label expertise and multi-category portfolio, you'll help customers solve problems, launch new products and unlock additional revenue opportunities.
If you're entrepreneurial, commercially curious and enjoy winning new business as much as growing existing accounts, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and develop a portfolio of national retail, grocery and specialist accounts.
- Deliver ambitious sales, profit and margin targets.
- Create and execute strategic account plans that deliver sustainable growth.
- Identify opportunities beyond existing product ranges by understanding retailer strategies, consumer trends and customer challenges.
- Develop bespoke product solutions using our global sourcing network, private label capabilities and exclusive brands.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Design and Sourcing teams to bring new concepts to market.
- Introduce customers to the wider Paramount Retail Group portfolio, creating cross-category opportunities across pet, homewares, drinks, confectionery and consumer goods.
- Identify, win and onboard new national retail customers.
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, promotions, annual agreements and joint business planning.
- Deliver engaging customer presentations supported by market insight and commercial analysis.
- Produce accurate forecasting, pipeline management and sales reporting.
- Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Product teams to deliver exceptional customer service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
