Retail National Account Manager
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Location: Home Counties
D R Newitt have partnered with an exciting and ambitious challenger food brand who are looking for a high-energy Retail National Account Manager to join their growing commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with big plans for growth, working across some of the UK's major grocery, discount and impulse retailers.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of retail customers, managing and growing existing relationships whilst also identifying and winning new business across new categories and locations.
The Role
- Manage and develop relationships with major retail customers, identifying opportunities to drive sales and distribution.
- Develop and deliver customer business plans that create value for both the retailer and the business.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, taking opportunities from initial contact through to successful launch.
- Engage with buyers and category managers to open new opportunities across different categories and locations.
- Own customer P&Ls, ensuring the right commercial levers are being used to deliver both revenue and profit targets.
- Lead negotiations and manage customer investment with a strong commercial mindset.
- Work closely with Category, Marketing, Innovation, Finance and Operations to deliver customer plans.
- Use data, insight and category knowledge to influence customers and drive growth.
- Lead new product launches and ensure customer-specific activation is delivered effectively.
- Manage forecasts, trade promotions and customer investment accurately and efficiently.
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with customers whilst constantly looking for the next growth opportunity.

About You
We are looking for a commercially driven National Account Manager who is hungry to make an impact.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience managing and developing retail FMCG accounts.
- Experience working with major grocery, discount or impulse retailers.
- A track record of identifying and delivering new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Experience building and delivering data-led customer business plans.
- The ability to use category and customer insight to identify growth opportunities.
- Experience managing P&Ls and customer investment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, resilient and tenacious approach.
- The confidence to challenge customers and the wider business when required.
- A genuine desire to grow, develop and progress your career.
