Job Opportunity: National Account Manager

Are you a National Account Executive ready to step into your first National Account Manager position, or already a NAM looking for a fast-growing, ambitious FMCG business with huge opportunities across some of the UK’s biggest retailers?

Signature Career Management have partnered again with an ambitious, category-leading FMCG business that has gone from strength to strength in recent years. A privately owned food business with a huge global turnover, the UK business has doubled turnover from 5 years ago and branded business 3 years ago!

Offering both high quality branded and own label products across all channels including grocery, discount, foodservice, QSR, B2B, convenience and wholesale.

Role Overview

Following another period of significant growth, the business is now looking to appoint a National Account Manager to take ownership of two strategically important customers, Co-op and Aldi, with a combined P&L of around £15m. You’ll take responsibility for protecting and developing the existing business, whilst identifying new distribution, innovation and category opportunities across both accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Co-op and Aldi accounts
  • Protect and develop the significant own label business
  • Identify new business opportunities across core and seasonal products
  • Drive commercial negotiations, promotional plans, customer terms and margin/profitability
  • Work closely with category, marketing, NPD and supply chain to deliver customer growth
  • Identify opportunities to win distribution, space and new SKUs, whilst taking share from existing own-label business
  • Analyse performance data and market trends to turn commercial information into clear plans for growth

Who You Are

  • A strong NAE/JNAM stepping up to NAM ideally but open to NAM
  • P&L experience with a retailer (Co-op or Aldi preferred)
  • Commercially driven with genuine experience managing customer P&Ls, trade investment, terms and profitability
  • Own-label experience is strongly preferred, alongside exposure to branded
  • Highly analytical, numbers-focused and able to simplify data into a clear commercial plan
  • A confident relationship builder with strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Energetic, resilient and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment
