National Account Manager – Grocery

Circa £50,000 + 20% bonus + car/allowance and benefits

Home-based | Major UK grocery multiple retailers

Are you a National Account Executive or Junior National Account Manager looking for your first full National Account Management role?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established €250 million European food group with a strong UK presence and extensive manufacturing capabilities across the UK and Europe.

The business operates across a broad range of chilled and frozen categories including party food, vegetarian products, snacking, dairy, pizza and convenience, supplying major grocery retailers alongside foodservice, wholesale and export customers.

You’ll join a close-knit UK commercial team and take responsibility for a portfolio of major UK grocery multiple retailers, with genuine ownership of customer strategy, negotiations, account performance and growth.

The Role:

  • Manage and develop relationships with major UK grocery multiple retailers
  • Build and deliver customer plans aligned to wider commercial objectives
  • Lead negotiations, pricing discussions and range reviews
  • Identify opportunities to secure new listings and expand existing ranges
  • Work closely with NPD, category, finance, supply chain and operations
  • Take ownership of sales, margin, profitability and account performance
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships

This is a highly autonomous role with the opportunity to make a real impact within a substantial international food group.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a National Account Executive, Junior National Account Manager or similar commercial role within food or FMCG
  • Exposure to major UK grocery multiple retailers
  • Private-label or retailer own-brand experience
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Experience supporting or managing joint business plans, range reviews and customer negotiations
  • The ambition to step up, take greater ownership and develop into a successful National Account Manager

Package:

Circa £50,000 basic salary, up to 20% bonus, company car or £5,400 car allowance, 8% pension, 33 days’ holiday and home-based working.

Location:

Home-based role with attendance at the South Wales site expected approximately once per week.
