Job Title: National Account Manager

Location: Kent, UK (3 days in the office)

Package: Up to £55k + Car allowance

The Company:

The business is a leading provider of high-quality snack products, including specialty snacks, chocolate-coated items, and snack mixes, all supplied in bulk packaging. The company caters to wholesalers, re-packers, and the food service industry across the European market. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional service, fostering strong partnerships, and driving growth within the foodservice and retail sectors.

Role Overview:

This is a commercially focused position combining account management with business development. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of UK customers, with a particular focus on re-packers, identifying opportunities to broaden product ranges, cross-sell additional products, and build long-term customer partnerships. This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in B2B sales and account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of national B2B accounts, ensuring growth and profitability.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including procurement teams, buyers, and senior decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and potential accounts.
  • Develop and implement account strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and operations, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Analyse sales data, track performance metrics, and report on key account progress.
  • Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Sales experience: Comparable experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in the B2B food industry.
  • Motivation and Enthusiasm: Open-minded, driven, and passionate about achieving results.
  • Business Development: Capable of facilitating the growth of profitable business and building long-term, sustainable relationships.
  • Communication Skills: Strong listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and positive approach.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willing and able to travel to customer locations within the UK, and visit the headquarters in the Netherlands.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of CRM systems such as Navision or Exact is a plus.
  • Additional Requirement: Own car
