I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You’re passionate about sales and take pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You enjoy developing long-term relationships but are equally energized by winning new business and achieving commercial success. You have strong commercial acumen, are highly organized, and understand the importance of maintaining excellent CRM discipline. You’re confident engaging with senior decision-makers, asking the right questions, and uncovering opportunities that create value for both the customer and UK Connect.
You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, collaborating across departments, and taking ownership of your results. Experience within construction or connectivity would be advantageous but isn’t essential – we’re looking for someone with the right mindset, curiosity, and the desire to succeed.

- Deliver exceptional customer experiences by acting as a trusted advisor and customer advocate.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and customer records within the CRM.
- Consistently achieve revenue, retention, and new business targets.
Experience
We’re more interested in your attitude and commercial capability than industry experience, but the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven track record in B2B Account Management with responsibility for revenue growth.
- Experience converting inbound or marketing-generated leads into new business customers.
- A genuine passion for sales with a strong desire to win new business.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop sales opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Excellent CRM discipline with experience managing pipeline, forecasting, and customer data.
- The ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach with a focus on achieving results and delivering revenue targets.
- Experience with telecommunications, technology, managed services, or construction sector would be advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of connectivity and wireless technologies would be beneficial, although full product training will be provided.
