I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • You’ll be at home being a trailblazer – trying things others haven’t tried before and quickly analysing whether they’ve worked
  • You'll stand out if you've gained experience in an FMCG or CPG business, particularly across the Discounters channel.
  • You’ll love devising the right plans for your customers/distributors and brand and be passionate about coming up with the right solutions yourself…and then implementing them.
  • You’ll be comfortable in commercial conversations, and have experience devising collaborating with retail partners to grow FMCG brands. Experience working with discount retailers is a big plus.
  • You’ll be comfortable mining and using market data and using it to drive the growth of a brand.
  • Your communication skills mean you’ll be at home living and breathing our brand in front of an audience, and your skills mean that you’re able to turn your own great ideas and a small purse into exceptional and profitable sales growth.
  • You’ll not be comfortable in a bureaucratic ‘ivory tower’ – you’re a self-starter who’s not afraid to get your hands dirty and win fast … and you’ll have the personality and energy to add to the team vibe in our office
