Wenzels the Bakers
Wenzels the Bakers is a family bakery business in Watford. We bake fresh every night for more than 100 of our own stores, and now we're taking that craft to restaurants, QSR brands, caterers, and wholesalers.
We're looking for a National Account Manager to lead this from the start. You'll open the doors, win our first key accounts, and help shape how we serve them. If you'd rather build something than just manage it, this is for you.
What we'll be selling
- Bespoke buns and rolls
- Brioche and speciality breads
- Our own range of chilled sandwich mixes with the shelf life to sell through wholesale
Who we'll be selling to
- QSR and fast casual brands
- Restaurant groups and managed pubs
- Contract caterers
- Foodservice wholesalers
- London based sandwich manufacturers
What you'll do
- Build a pipeline of foodservice prospects and take them from first contact through sampling, trials, and listing
- Own each customer relationship, including reviews, range development, and resolving service issues
- Work with our NPD and technical teams to develop bespoke products, from bun size and glaze to slicing and pack format
- Build pricing from our costings, protect margin, and negotiate contract terms
- Give production and supply chain reliable forecasts so we can plan the night runs
- Work with transport and customer service on delivery windows, cut-offs, and OTIF
- Report monthly on sales, margin, and forecast accuracy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
