National Account Manager (Hospitals)

Generics Pharmaceuticals | UK Field-Based

An opportunity to influence the growth of an ambitious pharmaceutical business within the UK hospital sector.

We are partnering exclusively with an ambitious and growing pharmaceutical organisation as they continue to expand their presence across the UK.

With a growing portfolio of generic medicines, continued investment and exciting commercial ambitions, our client is seeking an experienced National Account Manager (Hospitals) to lead the development of strategic NHS and hospital accounts across the UK.

This is an opportunity for an established NHS commercial professional to bring their market knowledge, relationships and track record into a business where they can have genuine visibility and influence.

The Opportunity

As National Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of developing and growing hospital sales across the UK, working strategically with NHS customers, procurement teams, hospital pharmacy departments and key stakeholders.

You’ll be expected to bring existing knowledge and relationships across the NHS, while taking a hands-on approach to identifying, developing and converting commercial opportunities.

This is a lean and entrepreneurial organisation, so the role will suit someone who is comfortable operating with a high degree of independence. You’ll have the freedom to make decisions, build your own relationships and drive opportunities forward rather than relying on a large commercial infrastructure around you.

For the right individual, there is significant scope to help shape and strategically influence the growth of one of the fastest-growing businesses in the generics space.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We’re looking for a commercially driven pharmaceutical sales professional with a strong track record within the UK hospital generics market and an established NHS network.

You’ll understand the NHS environment, know how to build credibility with key stakeholders and have the relationships to open doors. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who is prepared to get involved and make things happen.

This role requires someone who is self-sufficient, commercially proactive and comfortable taking responsibility. You’ll need the confidence to operate independently, make decisions and drive your own agenda without needing significant day-to-day support.

Why Join?

Our client combines commercial ambition, agility and genuine opportunity.

This is not a role within a large corporate structure where your contribution can become diluted. The organisation is growing rapidly, and the successful individual will have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping its hospital strategy and commercial development.

With an expanding product portfolio and ambitious plans for further growth, this is a chance to bring your NHS expertise and relationships into a business where your individual contribution can have a direct and visible impact.

If you’re an established hospital generics professional looking for greater autonomy, influence and the opportunity to help build something, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
