National Account Manager - Rail (Internal Sales)

Location: East Kilbride, Glasgow
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday - Office Based
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting for an experienced Internal Sales / Account Management professional to join a well-established and successful supplier of civils and infrastructure products, based at their East Kilbride office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Infrastructure team, with a particular focus on customers and projects within the rail sector.
The role will involve managing an existing portfolio of customers, handling day-to-day enquiries, quotations and orders, and developing strong, long-term relationships to ensure a consistently high level of service.
Working closely with experienced colleagues, external sales managers and the wider branch network, you will play an important role in supporting existing accounts and identifying opportunities for additional business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with an allocated portfolio of customers, primarily within the rail sector.
- Handle incoming customer enquiries, prepare quotations and process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with suppliers, branches and internal teams to ensure materials are sourced and delivered in line with customer requirements.
- Work closely with external sales managers to support ongoing projects and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts.
- Follow up quotations, monitor outstanding enquiries and maintain regular communication with customers.
- Provide a professional, responsive and reliable service, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the sales and order process.
- Build a good understanding of the company's product range and customer requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in internal sales, sales support or account management, ideally within a builders' merchant, civils supplier, construction materials distributor or similar environment.
- Experience dealing with customer enquiries, quotations, order processing and account management.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and organised approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Comfortable managing multiple enquiries and priorities in a busy sales environment.
- Good attention to detail and a practical, commercially aware approach.
- Previous experience supplying the rail or infrastructure sectors would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
