Key Role Feature
Build and launch new EMEA marketplace partnerships whilst owning one of the UK's most strategically important ecommerce accounts
Our client is a fast-growing international consumer brand with an established presence across retail, ecommerce and marketplace channels. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, the business is investing heavily in expanding its digital footprint across Europe and is now looking to appoint a commercially driven National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces to help lead this next phase of growth.
This is a highly visible role that combines account management, business development and marketplace expansion. The successful National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces will take ownership of a strategically important ecommerce account whilst also identifying, evaluating and launching new marketplace opportunities across Europe.
The National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces will:
- Identify and evaluate new marketplace opportunities across EMEA
- Build commercial business cases and go-to-market strategies for new channel launches
- Lead marketplace onboarding, account setup and launch execution
- Develop scalable processes and cross-functional ways of working
- Support wider ecommerce growth initiatives across European markets
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution
The National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces will:
- Own the Ocado customer relationship and Joint Business Plan
- Take full responsibility for the customer P&L
- Deliver against revenue, spend and profitability targets
- Lead customer negotiations, annual planning and performance reviews
- Develop pricing, promotional and trade plans to drive sustainable growth
- Monitor RSV, turnover, spend and margin performance against budget
- Researching new marketplace opportunities aligned to business priorities
- Building launch plans and customer propositions for new channels
- Navigating ambiguity and creating new processes where required
- Coordinating stakeholders across ecommerce, supply chain, finance and marketing
- Supporting European marketplace growth initiatives
- Working closely with ecommerce teams to deliver best-in-class digital execution

The National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces will:
- Analyse sales, category, customer and market performance
- Build recommendations using customer and consumer insights
- Identify opportunities to improve distribution, visibility and conversion
- Drive digital shelf excellence through content optimisation and regular audits
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging market opportunities
- Utilise data to influence strategic decisions and future investment priorities
The successful National Account Manager – Ocado & EMEA Marketplaces will demonstrate:
- FMCG account management experience
- Experience within ecommerce or digital commerce
- Proven experience managing strategic customers or ecommerce accounts
- Strong commercial acumen and P&L management capability
- Experience building business cases and identifying growth opportunities
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and presentation capabilities
- Confidence managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
The role would particularly suit someone with experience in:
- Ocado or major online grocery accounts
- European marketplace launches and expansion projects
- Ecommerce customer management
- Digital shelf optimisation and online content strategy
- European markets and cross-border commerce
- Consumer goods, FMCG or pet care environments
- Additional European languages
