My client is a leading Premium Pet Care business seeking a National Account Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of key Pet Speciality customers and play a significant role in delivering the next phase of growth.

Client Details

Our client is a highly regarded and growing business operating within the petcare sector, with an established portfolio of premium products and ambitious plans for further growth across the UK.

The business has built strong relationships within the Pet Speciality channel and is continuing to invest in its brands, customer partnerships and commercial capabilities.

Description

As National Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of strategically important Pet Speciality customers across the UK including Pets at Home, Jollys and Pets Corner.

This is a commercially focused role with significant responsibility for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and delivering sustainable sales and profit growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong, long-term relationships with senior buyers and key decision-makers.
  • Developing and implementing strategic account plans.
  • Delivering revenue, margin, distribution and growth targets across the customer portfolio.
  • Identifying opportunities for new listings, product launches, ranging and incremental sales.
  • Leading customer negotiations and annual trading discussions.
  • Developing promotional strategies and ensuring effective execution.
  • Using customer, category and market insight to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Monitoring competitor activity and wider developments within the petcare market.
  • Managing sales forecasts and contributing to accurate commercial planning.
  • Working closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and wider Sales teams.
  • Presenting commercial plans, performance and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting the wider commercial strategy and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Profile

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded National Account Manager with UK Retail Experience.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in National Account Management within petcare, or FMCG
  • A strong understanding of the UK Retail Landscape - ideally Pet Specialist channel
  • A proven track record of delivering sales and profit growth.
  • Experience managing significant customer relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
  • Experience in account planning, ranging, pricing and promotional management.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and insight to influence decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • The confidence and credibility to engage with senior customer stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine desire to make an impact.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.
