National Account Manager
We are looking for a National Account Manager to drive profitable revenue growth across the West Midlands and Southwest by developing and maximising opportunities with dealer partners, Design & Build contractors, architects and designers, and key end-user customers.
The role is responsible for securing specifications, developing high-value project pipelines, protecting opportunities through the sales cycle and converting them into profitable orders. Leveraging an established network of industry relationships and a strong regional client base, the postholder will strengthen our position as a trusted design-led Scandinavian and British-made furniture partner, increasing market share across the education, public sector, workplace and hospitality sectors.
The role inherits a strong portfolio of established clients and relationships, with a particular focus on the education, public sector, workplace and hospitality markets. The objective is to build on this foundation by increasing specification opportunities, developing new project pipelines and ensuring our products are considered and integrated into high-value projects by leading specifiers, end users and commercial partners. Our brand awareness in the region is already strong; the focus of this role is to turn that awareness into greater specification, project conversion and profitable revenue.
Key Experience
- Proven track record in the commercial interiors industry, ideally commercial furniture, with experience in an adjacent sector such as flooring, lighting or fabrics considered only where the candidate has strong, established and demonstrable industry relationships.
- Significant new business development experience, using a consultative, design-led and specification-focused sales approach.
- Established A&D network is essential. The candidate must have proven relationships with architects, interior designers and other key specifiers and be able to demonstrate how these relationships have generated specifications and business.
- Proven relationships with Dealers, D&B partners and End Users are highly desirable, together with a strong understanding of how projects are specified and converted into orders.
- A demonstrable track record of winning new business, securing specifications and delivering revenue growth, rather than simply managing existing accounts.
- Strong commercial, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, stakeholders and deadlines across a large geographical territory.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the credibility and confidence to engage with senior commercial decision-makers and creative professionals.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand and use pricing, rebates, incentives and commercial terms to develop accounts while protecting profitability.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or PCon is advantageous.
- A design-led yet commercially focused mindset, combining an understanding of design with strategic thinking, sales discipline and a strong focus on results.
- Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial and proactive, with the ability to work independently, identify opportunities and create new business rather than relying on inbound enquiries.
- Willing and able to travel extensively across the West Midlands and Southwest, with the energy and pace required to maintain a high level of face-to-face customer and project activity.
- A strong team player who works with pace, accountability and humility, collaborating effectively with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Product and the wider business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
