Are you an experienced FMCG sales professional with strong relationships across convenience, forecourt, and wholesale channels?

Do you have a proven track record of securing new listings and growing branded products within snacks, confectionery, or impulse categories?

Are you looking to make a visible commercial impact within an ambitious and entrepreneurial food business?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a fast-growing food manufacturer on the search for a National Account Manager. This is a permanent role based in the West Midlands.

To maintain confidentiality, further information regarding the business and its brands will be shared during an initial conversation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy across convenience, forecourt, wholesale, foodservice, and on-the-go channels.
  • Identify and secure new national and regional account opportunities, increasing distribution and brand visibility.
  • Build strong relationships with buyers, wholesalers, distributors, and other key decision-makers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, promotions, listings, and customer terms.
  • Create and deliver tailored joint business plans for strategically important accounts.
  • Manage account performance against agreed sales, margin, and distribution targets.
  • Use customer, category, and market insight to identify opportunities for profitable growth.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Category, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, trade events, and industry exhibitions.
  • Maintain an accurate new-business pipeline and provide clear commercial forecasts and reporting.

What Are We Looking For

  • Proven FMCG account management or business development experience.
  • Experience selling branded products within snacks, crisps, confectionery, impulse, or a closely related category.
  • Established relationships across convenience, forecourt, wholesale, cash and carry, foodservice, or on-the-go channels.
  • A strong track record of securing listings, opening new accounts, and delivering profitable sales growth.
  • Experience working directly with buyers and senior commercial decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • An entrepreneurial, proactive, and highly self-motivated approach.
  • The ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across a wider business.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally to meet customers and develop new opportunities.
