Commercial Manager – Retail
Salary: Up to £65,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + 50% Bonus + Benefits
Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with an established FMCG business with a turnover of around £130m, representing leading European food manufacturers across the UK market.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to manage and develop existing grocery retail accounts whilst identifying new business opportunities across the UK retail market.
The business works with major retailers including Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, M&S, Tesco and Home Bargains, with Aldi currently representing their largest account.
The Role
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key grocery retail accounts.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with major retailers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, including opening doors with new customers.
- Lead commercial negotiations, tenders and customer reviews.
- Work across NPD, forecasting, demand planning and stock management.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new products and categories.
- Work closely with European manufacturing partners to deliver customer growth.

About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Around 3–5 years' experience in a National Account, Commercial or similar FMCG role.
- Strong knowledge of the UK grocery retail market.
- Experience working with major multiples and/or discounters.
- Experience across chilled and/or frozen food would be highly advantageous.
- Established relationships within retailers such as Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, M&S, Tesco or Home Bargains.
- A proven ability to develop customer relationships and win new business.
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
