National Account Manager
Greater Manchester | Up to £55,000 + £5,000 car allowance + bonus up to 50%
A branded consumer goods business is recruiting a National Account Manager to take ownership of £5m to £10m of turnover across a portfolio of strategically important national retail accounts. The role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
The brands are household names with genuine consumer recognition, and the retail relationships are well established. The business is changing how it grows those accounts. It is moving away from promotionally led trading towards strategic account management, with proper joint business planning, data-led propositions and customer plans built to hold up through a range review. A new sales process has been introduced, alongside investment in training and commercial tools, and the business is bringing people in to lead that change rather than absorb it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
