Cheatwell Games is a UK-based distributor of board games, card games, and jigsaw puzzles. Founded in 1986, the company recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. Cheatwell Games was recently purchased by Outset Media, a leading Canadian-based game distributor with offices and distribution warehouses in Canada and the United States.

We are at the start of an exciting new growth phase for Cheatwell Games, with plans to invest in the UK business and build Cheatwell Games into a leading British game distributor.

Job Description:

Cheatwell Games is looking for an ambitious and commercially focused National Account Manager to help drive the next stage of growth across our UK retail customer base.

Whilst our offices are located in Gosport, this is a work from home position.

This is a key leadership role within the sales team, with responsibility for developing existing national accounts, identifying new commercial opportunities, and ensuring Cheatwell’s products and brands stand out in a competitive retail environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Taking day-to-day and strategic ownership of national retail accounts.
  • Creating and delivering account strategies that support both revenue and profit growth.
  • Building strong relationships with buyers and key customer contacts.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase distribution, ranging and sales across existing accounts.
  • Proactively seeking new customers and developing opportunities within the wider retail market.
  • Introducing and presenting new games, products and ranges to retail buyers.
  • Preparing sales forecasts, budgets and customer plans, ensuring these are aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Leading commercial discussions around pricing, terms, promotions and ranging.
  • Analysing customer performance and using sales data to identify areas for growth.
  • Keeping up to date with retail, category and consumer trends to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Representing Cheatwell Games at customer meetings, trade events and industry exhibitions as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in the toy and games industry.
  • Experience managing national UK retail accounts and delivering measurable sales growth.
  • A strong understanding of the UK retail environment and how to work effectively with buyers.
  • Excellent commercial judgement and confident negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build credible, productive relationships at all levels.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the confidence to sell products, ranges and commercial ideas.
  • Good analytical skills, including the ability to work with sales data, forecasts and Excel.
  • A proactive approach to finding and developing new business opportunities.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with sales, product, marketing, creative, and operations.
  • A genuine interest in products, brands, retail and the toy and games market.
  • A full UK driving licence.
