About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager to join our team and manage a portfolio of key customer accounts.

In this role, you'll build and develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with clients while acting as the main link between the customer and the business. You will be responsible for driving account performance, protecting existing contracts, identifying opportunities for growth and profitability, and supporting positive change across your account portfolio.

You'll also take ownership of the financial performance of your accounts, ensuring commercial objectives and budget targets are achieved, while working collaboratively with customers and internal teams to deliver against contractual requirements and provide an outstanding customer experience.

You will be responsible for

  • Leadership and management (driving change / improvements for both your customer(s) and your NAM support)
  • Achievement of portfolio KPIs
  • Commercial KPIs – profit and cost budgets (client development and retention, new revenue, new and organic, portfolio level contract management)
  • Proactively manage risk e.g. credit exposure and aged debt, cash neutrality, etc.
  • Develop the customer relationship beyond one of logistics provider to a partnership
  • Management of franchisees (where applicable) – with focus on credit insurance / exposure and relationship management.
  • Manage the communication between the client & BFL ensuring both parties are advised of any changes, issues or decisions that will impact on customer service and/or performance.
  • Monitor & escalate any activities within the client business that could impact negatively or otherwise on the commerciality of BFL.
  • Manage short life and dead stock issues to avoid and mitigate any financial exposure to BFL whilst keeping any DDL stock down to an absolute minimum.
  • Project manage estate, system and operational changes and work very closely with supply chain on new menu and promotional activities to ensure successful implementation.
  • Management of the wholesale product range (where necessary) to ensure price changes are negotiated with customers to ensure a profit is maintained.
  • Fund management for the customer (where necessary) through working closely with the finance team and the customer to ensure this always sits in a positive balance to BFL.

You will need

  • Evidence of commercial awareness and results orientation.
  • A good negotiator and competent influencer.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and experience of dealing with both clients and suppliers is essential.
  • Dedicated to the provision of excellent verbal and written communication; IT literate.
  • Evidence of performance analysis, KPI management, sales & stock analysis experience.
  • Business account planning experience including operational, logistics, manpower and financial aspects.
  • Evidence of team building and team participation.
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of place of work and travel
