Role Profile National Account Manager

Reports to: VP Sales/ POD lead

Reports: None

Context and Overall Purpose of Role

Total Negotiation Group is a dynamic and fast-growing commercial transformation consultancy. We build confidence in teams globally to lead the complete commercial conversation, from strategic planning to excellent execution.

The business was founded in 2009 and is led by Mark Grice, CEO and one of our 2 founding partners, and our board, and is supported by a team of full-time consultants, an office based client services team and a global network of franchise partners and associates giving us the capability to deliver global commercial capability transformation solutions across the world.

Our team is made up of relevant and diverse experts who are unequalled in their experience, located in all key customer regions and always delighting clients. Our clients span a number of different sectors with a focus on FMCG and also include technology, media, travel and sport.

In light of the growth of the business, we are expanding our client management team and recruiting a National Account Manager to lead the management of up to 8-12 clients which will vary from global contracts to newer, smaller clients. We are looking to this role to proactively manage these accounts, ensuring exceptional client service, clear reporting and communications and to seek out and win new business within these accounts to continue the growth of TNG.

Key Accountabilities

  • You will support the VP Sales in building new business, creating client account plans and maintaining long term relationships. As an influential account manager, you’ll also closely work to ensure we win new business opportunities to optimise existing client relationships and account value.
  • Selling the TNG offer to new clients
  • Developing existing client account relationships
  • Managing a portfolio of existing clients
  • Create short, medium and long term account plans
  • Respond to and resolve client queries in a timely manner
  • Manage all external and internal client stakeholder relationships
  • Conduct performance reviews and make recommendations for improvements
  • Live the TNG value of “we make clients our business”
  • Understand the commercial and capability requirements of the client to build compelling selling solutions
  • Conduct regular client facing review meetings and discovery calls – frequency as required but as a minimum - annual face to face, 6 monthly calls and quarterly emails.

Cross functional working

  • Work with head of resourcing to ensure full and accurate information is provided to them on all agreed client work.
  • Work with solutions team to align on future resource requirements.
  • Work with partner market contacts to ensure on track delivery of global targets.
  • Feedback to solutions team to ensure TN Group offer remains market leading and relevant.
  • Feedback to solutions team to identify future opportunities for programme creation.
  • Work with marketing to create client specific marketing plan.

CRM systems

  • Create, update and maintain forecast in internal CRM system.
  • Use internal CRM reporting to track and monitor progress vs targets.
  • Ensure accuracy of information loaded on CRM system.
  • Build a strong cross functional client network to ‘farm’ across all potential departments, teams and markets to further accelerate the TN Group business within the client. Create and implement an engagement matrix for each client in Hubspot.

Client Offer

  • Attend sales team sales training to ensure clarity of offer and how to sell.
  • Observe TNG workshops to understand our clients and offer
  • Use feedback from completed programmes and projects to create client testimonials.

Internal Accountabilities

  • 1:1’s
  • Weekly virtual pod stand up meeting
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings (virtual and face to face)
  • Attend 6 weekly all hands meeting at HO
  • Complete internal and external training sessions.
  • Complete internal administration.

Experience Required

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to flex style according to client
  • Persuasive with strong influencing skills
  • Commercial sales experience within the FMCG environment preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Collaborative and action orientated
  • Resilient and target driven
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Urgent and responsive - to customer and business needs
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a cross functional team to get the job done

This is a home-based role but travel to our Head office in Henley or clients will be required when necessary. Permission to work in the UK is essential.
