National Account Manager – Pub Channel

Location: Hybrid / Field Based

Department: On Trade – National Pubs Co’s

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: National Account Controller

Fancy putting some of the UK's best-loved drinks brands in front of millions of pub-goers?

At Global Brands, we create, build and grow drinks brands that people know and love – from VK and HOOCH to Franklin & Sons, across RTDs, spirits, soft drinks and beer.

We’re looking for a National Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of key national pub customers, building strong relationships, negotiating great commercial deals and finding new ways to grow our brands.

This is a role with plenty of commercial responsibility. You’ll own the P&L for your customers, build robust Joint Business Plans and work at Head Office level to drive volume, distribution, revenue and profit.

But it’s not just about what happens in the boardroom. You’ll work closely with our Regional Field Sales team to make sure the plans you agree actually come to life in pubs across the country.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and grow a portfolio of key national pub customers, taking responsibility for revenue, volume, distribution and profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with buyers and customer teams, becoming a trusted commercial partner.
  • Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that create sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations around pricing, promotions, activation, ranging, category plans and brand visibility.
  • Identify new customers, new ranging opportunities and new ways to get our brands into more outlets.
  • Work with customers to develop effective launch plans for new ranges and NPD.
  • Partner with our Regional Field Sales team to turn national agreements into real distribution, visibility and sales in the trade.
  • Work closely with Brand and Customer Marketing to make sure campaigns, brand plans and NPD launches land brilliantly.
  • Use market and customer data to understand performance, make recommendations and identify opportunities.
  • Keep a close eye on competitor activity and market trends, bringing insight back into the business.
  • Build effective journey plans that balance prospecting, customer development and channel priorities.
  • Sell our brands profitably, providing customers with category solutions that work for both sides.
  • Provide regular updates on customer performance, opportunities and the competitive landscape.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What great looks like

  • Your customers see you as a commercial partner, not just another supplier.
  • Your accounts are growing in the right way – volume, distribution, revenue and profit.
  • Your JBPs aren’t just documents sitting in a folder. They’re being executed and delivering results.
  • You’ve secured new listings, new distribution and new opportunities for our brands.
  • National agreements are translating into real activity and visibility in pubs across the country.
  • You know your P&L and understand exactly what’s driving performance.
  • You’re spotting opportunities before the competition does.
  • You build great relationships with buyers while still being confident enough to negotiate hard when it matters.
  • Our Field Sales team knows what the plan is and has everything they need to deliver it.
  • Most importantly, your customers are growing, our brands are growing and the numbers stack up.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven sales and account management experience, ideally within the drinks/FMCG sector.
  • Experience of brand selling and building commercially successful customer relationships.
  • A strong understanding of how to use market and customer data to shape recommendations and commercial plans.
  • Experience working with national pub companies or the Leased & Tenanted sector would be a big advantage.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the confidence to operate at Head Office level.
  • The ability to understand P&L, profitability, revenue and distribution – and use those numbers to make better decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Great organisation and time management – you’ll have plenty going on.
  • A self-starter mentality, with the passion and resilience to keep things moving.
  • A genuine interest in the drinks industry and an understanding of brands, categories and what makes customers tick.
  • The ability to work confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, from customer buyers and category teams to Brand, Marketing, Finance and Field Sales.
