National Business Development Manager

Location: Anywhere in the UK (Field-based / Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + Commission

Are you an experienced new business hunter with a proven record of winning large corporate accounts? If so, we want to hear from you!

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a market-leading supplier of business essentials, seeking a high-performing National Business Development Manager to drive growth across the UK.

This is a pure new business role, focused on identifying, winning, and onboarding new corporate clients across the UK. Once secured, new business will be transitioned to the Strategic Account Management team. You will play a key role in expanding the business and driving long-term growth.

Responsibilities of a National Business Development Manager:

  • Generate leads and build a strong pipeline through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking, and trade events
  • Identify and pursue tender opportunities, then build and submit compelling bids
  • Engage with decision-makers and present tailored solutions to prospective customers
  • Lead negotiations, close deals, and ensure smooth handover to the account management team
  • Work with sales leadership to develop targeted campaigns and market strategies
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular forecasts and performance updates
  • National travel required

  • Proven track record in new business development or B2B sales, ideally selling Business Supplies, Office Products, Technology, Office Furniture, or PPE
  • Strong background in selling into large private sector corporate customers
  • Experience working with tenders and bids, with the ability to put proposals together and present to customers
  • Strong consultative selling and solution-selling skills
  • Confident presenter with excellent negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with strong time management and autonomy
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
