NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – VERTELLUS UK

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Location: Hybrid remote in Warwick CV34 5AP

Salary: Competitive + performance-related incentives & company car

Reports to: Sales Director

As our new Business Development Manager, you’ll be right at the forefront of our growth story. Your focus will be on creating opportunities, building strong relationships, and bringing new customers on board. From first introductions to signed agreements, you’ll make every interaction feel professional, seamless, and full of confidence.

This is a high-impact role, giving you the chance to shape how Vertellus wins new business. With targeted leads ready to work from, dedicated marketing campaigns, and OEM backing from Renault Trucks, you’ll have all the support you need to build momentum and close deals.

You’ll work closely with our Customer Experience Manager to ensure every new client is onboarded smoothly, and alongside our Sales Director to align strategy, identify opportunities, and drive the business forward.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a people-first, hands-on role where every day is about creating opportunities, building connections, and driving results. You’ll build strong relationships, open doors, and ensure Vertellus continues to grow with confidence.

Your day-to-day will include:

Owning Business Development

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities, identifying and pursuing potential clients
  • Take ownership of pre-qualified targeted leads and turn them into lasting partnerships
  • Manage your pipeline with confidence, keeping opportunities moving forward
  • Build trust through honest, consistent communication and follow-through

Connecting People and Teams

  • Work hand-in-hand with our marketing team to make the most of campaigns and lead management
  • Partner with our Customer Experience Manager to ensure seamless onboarding for every new client
  • Collaborate with our Sales Director to align on strategy and target key opportunities

Driving Growth with Confidence

  • Network naturally, representing Vertellus at meetings and industry events across the UK
  • Present with credibility, negotiate effectively, and close deals that create long-term value
  • Spot market trends and competitor activity, and turn them into opportunities

Listening, Learning & Reporting Back

  • Use CRM insight to track opportunities and keep the pipeline strong
  • Share feedback and market intelligence to shape strategy
  • Lead review meetings with confidence, highlighting results and opportunities ahead

What You’ll Bring

You’re ambitious, proactive, and thrive on creating opportunities. You’re naturally organised, confident with people at all levels, and motivated to exceed targets.

You’ll need:

  • Business development or sales experience, ideally B2B
  • Confident communicator – on the phone, in person, and in writing
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline management ability
  • Proactive mindset with the drive to exceed targets
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally

Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience in commercial vehicle contract hire, rental, fleet, or logistics
  • Are confident using CRM systems (HubSpot experience is an advantage)
  • Are passionate about sustainable and low-emission vehicle technology
