National Business Development Manager

£55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance / Company Vehicle + Bonus

Home Based | England | Regular Travel

We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing waste management business for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their commercial team and play a key role in driving new business growth.

This is a senior sales position for someone who already understands the waste management industry and has a proven track record of winning new customers and substantial contracts. You’ll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with key decision makers and taking opportunities from the initial conversation through to successful close.

The Role

  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Identify and target prospective customers across the waste management market.
  • Build relationships with senior decision makers and understand their requirements.
  • Develop tailored, commercially focused proposals and solutions.
  • Lead sales opportunities from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and close.
  • Deliver against agreed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Keep up to date with market activity, competitor developments and customer requirements.
  • Attend customer meetings, networking events and industry forums as required.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale through to delivery.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.

About You

We’re looking for an established waste management sales professional who is confident winning new business and comfortable operating at a senior, corporate level. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in business development within the waste management industry.
  • A strong track record of winning new customers and commercial waste contracts.
  • Experience selling consultatively into larger businesses and managing complex sales processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer needs and build value-led solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive approach to prospecting, networking and generating your own opportunities.
  • The resilience and drive to work towards ambitious sales targets.
  • The ability to build credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across England.

What's on Offer?

  • £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • Annual car allowance or electric company vehicle.
  • Competitive bonus scheme.
  • Home-based position.
  • Regular travel to customer and remote site locations.
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
