Job Title: National Co-ordinator for Inclusion and Wellbeing - Police Staff - CTPHQ
Salary: The starting salary is £62,310, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £59,301 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £72,254. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
Putting inclusion at the heart of counter-terrorism policing. Inclusion, Diversity, Equality (IDE) and Wellbeing is the key to supporting our greatest asset – our people.
Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) keeps the nation and everyone in it safe from all manner of threats. As those threats evolve, so do we. Take on this role and you’ll be developing the workplace culture and practices, within an organisation dedicated to protecting the public and our national security.
Our people protect our national security, officers and staff, in all areas of our organisation and the wider CTP network. Your role will see you develop a work environment that can continue to adapt to the UK’s changing threat landscape.
The successful post-holder will be the CTP Network’s leading SME in the space of IDE and Wellbeing, strategically driving the network’s direction and building on the established processes to provide a future-proofed approach. The post-holder will provide specialist advice and guidance to senior leaders both within Counter Terrorism Poling HQ and across the wider CTP network. The post-holder will also represent CTP in the IDE spaces across national territorial policing and our national security partners.
This post is has been in place for over four years in CTP, focused specifically on IDE. The role is being expanded for the new post-holder to also incorporate Wellbeing within their national remit.
Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Develop and maintain a single Inclusion, Diversity and Equality (IDE) and Wellbeing direction for the CTP Network, which responds to all relevant national action plans and supports regional-specific contexts.
- Drive change within the IDE people performance framework to ensure progress is monitored and reported at both a regional and network-level.
- Respond to national and regional challenges in the space of IDE as they arise, providing expert advice and guidance as the network’s SME.
- Collaborate with CT Heads, Business Managers and HR Leads in the delivery of regional IDE and Wellbeing strategies and interventions.
- Support the establishment of regional IDE/W working groups, governance and data-informed IDE/W interventions.
- Proactively work with wider Strategic HR colleagues to improve recruitment and retention initiatives, through the lens of IDE, across CTPHQ and the wider network.
- Provide ad-hoc specialist advice and support to senior leaders within CTPHQ and the wider CTP Network on matters related to IDE/W in a policing context.
- Devise and deliver a range of bespoke CT IDE/W interventions, including but not limited to; supervisor training, culture briefings and reasonable adjustments tools.
- Identify IDE/W best practice and establish relevant benchmarking, across policing, national security and the wider public sector.
- Constructively challenge and drive the representation of CTP within the IDE/W workstreams across the NPCC, College of Policing and the National Security community.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Essential Skills & Experience
The jobholder will need a proven record of managing organisational change in the field of inclusion, diversity, equality (IDE), and wellbeing, with the ability to move fast, navigate ambiguity and maintain resilience when challenged on difficult messages. They will have the skills and experience to innovate to deliver this change in new and creative ways, and have the resilience to push boundaries.
They will need:
- Previous experience as a specialist IDE practitioner.
- Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to constructively challenge and effectively advise colleagues of all ranks and bands on difficult topics.
- Substantial communication skills, both written and verbal, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Critical thinking, with the ability to analyse and de-conflict multiple sets of information, forming a judgement that is in the best interests of colleagues and the wider network.
- Training and presenting capability, with experience curating bespoke IDE content and facilitating both upskilling and colleague-feedback sessions to groups of varying seniority.
Desirables
- Ability to translate metrics, research, and trends to identify opportunities, interventions, and initiatives for improvement.
- Ability to comfortably contribute to senior-level Board meetings, chairing when required.
- Project management skills, with excellent prioritisation, time management and organisational capacity, with the ability to pivot and adapt to address emerging needs as they arise.
- Proven success in delivering organisational change related to IDE.
