Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is looking for an ambitious and commercially driven National Fleet Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis and help shape the future of fleet sales for one of the UK’s most iconic automotive brands.

Do you thrive on building long-term, strategic fleet relationships? Are you motivated by delivering outstanding commercial performance, developing high-performing teams and making a meaningful commercial impact in a fast-changing market?

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, leading our fleet team, strengthening customer partnerships and driving growth across true fleet channels.

Reporting to the Head of Sales

You will lead, motivate and develop our Area Fleet Manager team, creating the focus, energy and direction needed to achieve ambitious business objectives. You will be accountable for delivering fleet sales volume and market share growth across true fleet market segments, while shaping customer and sales channel strategies that support both short-term performance and long-term success.

You will be at the forefront of our fleet growth agenda: maximising opportunities with existing customers, identifying future prospects and helping our retailer network build the capability needed to support our fleet business in a changing automotive landscape. Working closely with factory and Group Fleet International colleagues, you will help unlock local and global fleet opportunities, while also supporting transformation projects, legal framework requirements and key compliance responsibilities.

Skills & experience you can bring to the role

  • Proven leadership and coaching experience, with the ability to motivate, develop and performance manage a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of the automotive industry and the fleet market, with experience and understanding of true fleet channels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and acumen, including the ability to manage fleet support spend and deliver sales targets in line with budget.
  • Experience developing and implementing customer and sales channel strategies across corporate, SME, public sector and small business programmes.
  • Ability to maximise sales performance with existing customers, identify new prospects and manage sales funnel and prospecting activity through CRM data and approach.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proven stakeholder management ability, with effective relationship building at all levels including retailer, brand, factory and international colleagues.
  • Experience managing tenders, developing business cases and supporting operational or business transformation activity.
  • Strong drive, tenacity and focus on achieving targets and results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
