Are you an experienced Sales Engineer with a proven background selling laser machinery or laser cutting systems?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering business with a strong reputation for CNC machinery, laser cutting systems and automation.

We are looking for someone commercially driven, resilient and ambitious who wants to build a long term career with the business. This is not simply an account management role. You will be responsible for developing new opportunities, opening new customer relationships, winning machinery sales and growing existing accounts across the UK and Ireland.

You will combine technical knowledge with a strong commercial approach, taking the time to understand your customers challenges and finding the right machinery and automation solutions to help improve their productivity, accuracy and efficiency.

The Role

  • Develop new sales opportunities across the UK and Ireland for laser cutting machinery, CNC machinery, automation, upgrades and associated solutions
  • Proactively identify and approach new customers, opening doors and building a strong sales pipeline
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities to increase sales and develop long term partnerships
  • Visit customers regularly to understand their requirements, discuss applications and provide technically appropriate solutions
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry and opportunity through to quotation, negotiation and order
  • Prepare accurate quotations and commercial proposals with support from internal technical specialists
  • Build relationships with engineers, production teams, purchasing departments and senior decision makers
  • Understand customer challenges and translate technical features into clear commercial benefits
  • Follow up opportunities consistently and have the resilience to progress longer sales cycles
  • Work closely with internal engineering, service and product teams to ensure customers receive the right solution and support
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and opportunity information
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide useful market insight to the wider business
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions and industry events
  • Travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional travel to Europe and the USA for meetings, training and industry events

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
