St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).
Job Summary
Join St John Ambulance as a National Sales Executive (Sales Growth) and play a key role in driving revenue growth, customer expansion and market share across our commercial training customers.
With a particular focus on re-engaging lapsed customers and developing existing accounts, you will use a commercially driven and insight-led approach to identify opportunities, build relationships and convert new business at pace. You will play an important role in growing the sales pipeline and progressing higher-value customers into our Premium and Strategic channels.
You will also act as an escalation point for lower-spend national customers, supporting retention, resolving issues and identifying opportunities to increase customer value. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will help deliver scalable, customer-focused growth and contribute to the delivery of St John Ambulance's 2026–2028 strategy.

About You
- You have experience in sales, business development, account management or a similar commercial role, with a strong focus on revenue growth and customer development.
- You have a proven ability to identify, develop and convert commercial opportunities, including opportunities within existing and lapsed customer accounts.
- You are commercially driven and motivated by achieving sales targets, growing revenue and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- You are confident using customer data, insight and market information to identify opportunities and prioritise activity.
- You have strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and understand their needs.
- You are comfortable managing a sales pipeline and progressing opportunities efficiently from initial engagement through to conversion.
- You have experience managing customer issues and acting as an escalation point, with a strong focus on retention and customer satisfaction.
- You are confident identifying opportunities to increase customer value and develop accounts towards higher-value products or services.
- You are proactive, resilient and comfortable working at pace in a target-driven environment.
- You enjoy collaborating with colleagues across different teams to deliver effective, customer-focused solutions.
- You are organised and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on commercial performance and customer outcomes.

About the Role
- Drive revenue growth, customer expansion and market share across St John Ambulance's commercial training customer base.
- Develop and deliver targeted activity to re-engage lapsed customers and identify opportunities to rebuild long-term relationships.
- Grow existing customer accounts by identifying additional needs, opportunities and relevant training solutions.
- Use customer insight, data and market intelligence to identify and prioritise high-value commercial opportunities.
- Identify, qualify and convert new opportunities at pace to support sales pipeline growth and revenue targets.
- Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline, ensuring effective progression and timely conversion.
- Identify higher-value customers and support their progression into Premium and Strategic channels.
- Act as an escalation point for lower-spend national customers, supporting retention, issue resolution and opportunities for value growth.
- Build strong and productive relationships with customers, ensuring a consistent and customer-centric approach throughout the sales journey.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Sales, Business Development, Training, Operations and other functions to deliver scalable customer solutions.
- Share customer and market insight to help identify trends, improve retention and inform wider commercial activity.
- Monitor customer performance and engagement, identifying risks and opportunities to support sustainable growth.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across sales processes and ways of working to improve customer experience and commercial performance.
- Support the delivery of St John Ambulance's wider commercial objectives and 2026–2028 strategic ambitions.
