National Sales Manager (Automotive)
Micheldever Tyre Services is looking for a National Sales Manager (Automotive) to lead the MFDD National sales function. Reporting to the Head of MFDD and managing the Business Development Manager team and the MFDD Team Leader, the role is responsible for delivering the MFDD strategic objectives, driving profitable sales growth, developing key customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across both field sales and internal account management functions. The role provides leadership, coaching, and direction to create a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction, commercial delivery, continuous improvement, and employee development.
This is a field-based national role requiring regular travel to support the BDM team and key accounts.
Location: National
Must have:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience of working in a target-driven environment, selling into a similar sector.
Salary: £65k DOE (OTE up to £89k, up to £2000 monthly bonus)

About You:
- Manage and develop the Business Development Manager team to achieve and exceed Sales, Gross Profit, Unit, and Premium Mix objectives.
- Establish and implement national sales plans aligned with MFDD strategic objectives.
- Review and challenge area business plans to maximize sales conversion, customer retention, and profitability.
- Ensure all sales territories operate to agreed standards, processes, and customer engagement models.
- Identify new business opportunities across franchised dealer groups, vehicle manufacturers, and strategic accounts.
- Support the team in tender opportunities, contract negotiations, and major customer implementations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Build MFDD's proposition for EV-specific tyre programmes and fleet telematics and maintenance services, in partnership with vehicle manufacturers.
- Own and lead customer retention strategies across the division.
- Ensure field and internal teams work collaboratively to deliver an industry-leading customer experience.
- Ensure business development plans are in place for all key accounts.
- Ensure the MFDD Team Leader and Account Management team consistently achieve agreed service levels.
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Ensure customer issues are resolved effectively and within agreed timescales.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvement plans where necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Support internal and external audit activities as required.

- Support the Head of MFDD in achieving divisional objectives: sales, gross profit, tyre units.
- Ensure the Business Development Managers and MFDD Team Leader consistently deliver against agreed KPIs, Service Level Agreements, and customer expectations.
- Develop and execute national sales strategies that support the continued growth of the MFDD division.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching, and succession planning across the MFDD sales and account management teams.
- Retain accountability for Health & Safety across the MFDD sales and account management teams, ensuring the Business Development Managers and MFDD Team Leader comply fully with MTS Health & Safety standards and guidelines.
About Our Company:
Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) was founded in 1972 as a part-time venture providing car servicing and tyres. Today, Micheldever Group is the fastest growing wholesaler, distributor, and retailer of tyres in the UK, selling six million tyres nationwide (20 percent of the total UK market) and employing approximately 2100 employees company-wide.
To support this business, we have built a wholesale distribution network of 14 sites around the UK supplying over 6,000 retailers and our own retail chain Protyre, which is consistently growing with over 150 centres nationwide currently. This is achieved by skilled, focused, and determined teams across 1 central distribution and 13 warehouse operations nationwide.
